South's Drawing and Painting flourishes every year.  Beginning with basic drawing skills with pencil, charcoal and pastels, students then learn the basics of painting.  Advance students continue on to learn printmaking techniques along with advance oil painting and color pastel techniques.

South's Ceramics and Sculpture classes learn various techniques with various media.  Students begin learning the basics of the potter's wheel and handbuilding sculptural techniques.  Students learn about and experiment with the never ending materials available in the sculptural world.  Advance students continue to learn advance techniques on the potter's wheel, glaze mixing, various firing techniques and begin experiments on surface design.

South Art Metals department has grown into an amazing studio.  Students begin by learning how to properly saw, pierce, enamel and cast in a variety of metals.  Recently acquiring a new forging machine, advance students have the abilities to begin experiments with various advance techniques.  Advance students will become masters of soldering and paying special attention to details.

South's Photography department has recently become all digital.  Keeping up with the changing art of photography this class offers a chance to develop compositional skills, editing techniques and proper color and b& w printing.  Get to know the program Photoshop and advance your skills into Photography II, III and Seminar to get to know more editing software and movie making skills.
